Imagine Support

April 2026 • A small practice for loosening the sense that everything depends on you.

Much of the day is shaped by a quiet assumption that things depend on you.

That you need to manage, push, and hold everything together.

It often goes unnoticed, but it affects how you move through even simple moments.

What would change if that assumption were different?

Not permanently. Just briefly.

Try this:

Set aside one or two minutes.

During that time, assume - just for now - that you are fully supported.

That things will work out.
That you will have what you need.
That you don't have to hold everything together on your own.

You don't have to believe it. Just let it be the working assumption for the moment.

Then, write down one small thing you would do differently today if that were true.

Keep it simple and specific.

For example:

  • sending a message you've been putting off

  • asking for help or clarification

  • taking a small step without overthinking it

  • approaching something with less urgency or pressure

Choose one.

Then do it the same day, if possible.

Afterward, notice:

  • how it felt to act from that assumption

  • whether anything in your approach shifted

  • whether the result was different - or simply felt different

You don't need to hold the assumption in place.

Just notice what changed while it was there.

This isn't about adopting a new belief.

It's about seeing how different assumptions quietly shape your actions.

Sometimes even a temporary shift is enough to open up another way of moving through the day.
